"Why is it that the best candidate for president (Paul) is always unelectable, while the worst candidates (Bush, Obama, Palin, Trump) are completely electable?" because of parasite addiction and intoxication.
Beuracracy. I origionally invested alot of time into learning its inner workings, but now, i feel like im her up there. Praise the liberatarian isolationist.
Isolationism would be, in our current state, the best option to pull us out of our rut. Increase the manufacturing industry, cut taxes on the rich so that they may fund new business oppertunities that create jobs, quit importing. Focus on coal based or nuclear power, and excell and support any privatized space program so that we may begin harvesting helium 3 as soon as possible. Straight up the road to recovery.
because you insist that this is a true democracy. Ron Paul is not a puppet politician, that is why he is "unelectable". we as americans support who we want, regardless of what the media says about Ronnie P. He IS ELECTABLE! WE just have to ensure it!
Ideally, Ron Paul is the best candidate for the country. He wants to end all military conflicts overseas, cut spending, cut taxes, cut useless government agencies, lift all violations on civil liberties such as the Patriot Act and waterboarding, end the war on drugs, and fight corporatism.
But realistically, the guy is unelectable. Sure, as he said, more Americans are looking to his ideals on limited government and fiscal responsibility more than ever. But Americans tend to vote against their best interests, and are easily manipulated by the media. So at best we may end up with someone like Gingrich or Romney, and at worst Palin or Trump. Heck, Americans are so stupid, they’ll probably give Obama a second term. They managed to give Bush a second term.
I’m hoping Ron Paul becomes the presidential candidate, but at this point, hope is all we have.
its as if he is just there to sit on the highest shelf, appeal to us, but not for sale. i hear a shop owner say, "oh, yes you like that? well here is something just like it, but that up there is not for sale." and we as the customer say,"why the hell not? i dont want your cheap knock-off version, i want the real thing!!!" i think its about how much would we as americans would actually pay to get that precious item off the shelf...
Don’t know much about Gary Johnson, though I did read a Reason article on why he should be the nominee rather than Ron Paul. I think he might be a good candidate as well. But with the way the Republican party is, I’m afraid we may be stuck with someone like Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.
I want to say that, if Ron Paul or Gary Johnson doesn’t run for the Republican party, I want to go Libertarian party, but from what I see, the only candidate available right now is R. Lee Wrights, and I don’t know much about him either. The Republicans and Democrats have well over a dozen prospective candidates. The Libertarians barely have one. No wonder the two parties are so dominant.
And yeah, you could call me a brony! My fav happens to be Fluttershy. I don’t know. I guess I find shy girls cute.
Yeah, and those who benefit from the status quo are scaring people from voting outside it by portraying those like Ron Paul as fringe nuts or extremists. Just check this article out: [link]
I just love #3, allowing the states to determine their own laws on marriage, abortion, and other social issues. Ooh, that’s so extreme! Or at least it would be to anyone unfamiliar with state rights, or at least the 10th Amendment.
Luckily, there articles like this debunking such fear tactics: [link]
Yup, construe the view and don't give any of his reasoning why. He is a very logical/reasonable/prosperity-minded man. Sure, you can make anything sound bad. Hell! Here, voting no on some form of higher taxes means that you hate the children and the elderly!
Of course. Neither party really gives a damn. And those in said parties who do (Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich) never get elected because they do care. And the fact that we have a two-party duopoly without any real competition just makes things worse.
