Good news and bad news. The bad news is that Americans have become increasingly polarized along political lines. Not since the Civil War has the county been this politically divided.

The good news is that more Americans, especially millennials, are refusing to identify as Team Edward or Team Jacob—excuse me, Team Red or Team Blue—and are instead identifying as political independents.

As the gap between the two parties ever increase, the illusion of choice becomes all the more clearer, and Americans are quickly becoming disillusioned by it. We can only hope that this trend helps foster a formidable third party, and that we finally have a real choice at the voting booths.

Yeah, the millennials learned their lesson after electing Obama, then reelecting him.  Big dent in their future, but a real lesson in elections and votes having consequences.

I feel so bad for my daughter.

Yeah - you guys both messed up the worse and will pay for doing so the most.  I'm a boomer and I couldn't imagine a generation slower than we were until the millennials renewed Obamas's contract in the face of their sky-high unemployment, etc.

But some truly brain-dead boomers helped that along too, so it was kind of a mult-generational-Duh!

Brazil has 32 parties... a mess...

The problem is when parties ask for government support of freethinking and the State pays for parties existence... All 32 brazilian parties are left-wing maintained by a public fund.

To open a party and begin to receive public funds a group just need 500,000 signatures.

Well, hopefully the other parties, especially the libertarians, get more recognition now. I personally hate the democrat-versus-republican thing, anyway.

I, and probably many, many other people, have probably said this already, but I'm glad to have learned of libertarianism. It combines the best of both parties and leaves the bad stuff out. :)
